WITH OUR HELP YOU COULD FEEL BETTER
We offer different group therapies. Currently, we deliver a short-term Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) group programme and longer-term groups based on group analysis and psychotherapy.
The CBT groups run for ten weeks and help you to manage symptoms you are currently experiencing.
The therapist takes you through a course, looking at specific areas of your life each week, to help you understand what is going on. The sessions will help you find practical ways of dealing with problematic thoughts and behaviours.
In the longer-term groups, we have the time to look at more deep-seated difficulties, so that you can experience fundamental changes that are useful to you. These sessions have no formal agenda. People are encouraged to talk about their concerns when they feel ready and to respond to each other as honestly as possible. Participants stay for as long as they need.
Our long term groups meet for one-and-a-half hours each week. Generally groups include up to eight people, plus the therapist. When you come for your first one-to-one consultation, you can think more about what kind of group would suit you best.
WE ARE EXPANDING
We have been operating successfully in Cambridge since 1969, when we grew out of innovations developed at Fulbourn Hospital that were followed by health professionals worldwide. Our clinical team consists of highly qualified professionals with many years’ experience between them.
In 2016 we opened groups in Huntingdon and Ely for the first time. We are committed to providing a first class service that is available to as many people in the county of Cambridgeshire that we can reach.

Each week over 130 people of a different ages and backgrounds attend our day and evening groups.
We also work with other agencies in order to give our members the best service possible.
AND THE COST?
The CBT groups are free of charge. For the long-term groups, as we are a small, not-for-profit charity, we ask people to make a contribution to their therapy according to a sliding scale of fees and their financial situation. This will be discussed with you at your initial consultation. We do not means test. The aim is for our therapy to be affordable for everyone.
